Private Henna Parties

A great addition to any party!

For many years, henna has been used for celebrations and get-togethers, including birthday parties, sleep overs, Sweet-16 parties, Quincineras, graduations, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, engagement parties, bridal or baby showers or for no reason other than to enjoy being pampered with wonderful temporary body art.

How my parties work:

At a time you designate, I will arrive with my henna and pattern books, introduce myself and answer any questions before I get started. I'll then spend about 10 minutes per person applying the henna, and glitter, if requested, at no additional charge. Glitter provides a sparkly decoration to the paste.

Before leaving, I'll instruct everyone about 'aftercare', so they'll know what to do to help make their henna designs last the longest. Next, I'll fix any smudges, collect your payment, and then leave you to enjoy the rest of your day/evening. For the next 1-3 weeks, you'll have a beautiful piece of artwork to admire and show off!

Here is a traditional floral henna design, embellished with red and purple glitter gel.

It will last from one to three weeks depending upon how long the paste is left on and how well the after-care instructions are followed.

RATES: Parties are billed at the rate of $80/hour. To calculate how much time to book for, figure 5-6 persons per hour for average designs that would cover the back of a hand. If more elaborate patterns or additional henna is required at the party, then I will prorate additional time by the half-hour. I will be happy to speak with you in advance to help you figure out how much time you will need.

DEPOSIT: A 50% deposit is required to confirm and hold your date and is fully refundable with 7 or more days advanced notice. Until payment is received your date is not confirmed. This deposit will be credited toward the total amount due when final payment is made. Please see the "Bookings" link to the left for information on how to pay your deposit.

Payment of the balance in full is required on the night of the party, or it may be paid in advance if the person paying for the party will not be in attendance. Cash or checks are accepted for payment, or you may pay with your credit card through this website.

TRAVEL: There is no additional charge for parties within 10 miles of downtown Orlando. Travel outside of this area will be billed at 50-cents per mile. Trips in excess of 100 miles will be billed instead at $80/hour for travel time.

SCHEDULING: It's recommended that you schedule at least two weeks in advance for your party, if possible. Appointments may be booked less than that, based upon availability, but please note that your date is not confirmed until your deposit has been received. ** You may pay your deposit online once I've confirmed a date with you by telephone or email, by clicking the "Bookings" link to the left under "My Services."

CANCELLATIONS: If you need to cancel, your deposit is fully refundable with 7 or more days advanced notice. With 4-7 days advanced notice, I will refund 50% of your deposit. And with 3 or fewer days notice, there are no refunds.

RESCHEDULING: You may reschedule your party at any time, subject to availability.

NOTES: Henna will not stain skin that contains lotion, cremes or any kind of tanning accelerator or self-tan products. To save time, please ask those who will be receiving henna to thoroughly clean the areas where they would like to have their designs, with soap and warm water.

IMPORTANT: The henna paste, once applied, will take from 30-45 minutes to dry. During this time, you must be careful not to smear the design or get the paste on anything that could stain, which is to say, just about anything. Henna can be removed from most fabrics if it is scrubbed immediately with COLD water. Do NOT use hot water, as that will cause the stain to set.

*** I only use fresh, red henna powder, lemon juice and natural essential oils which may include: Lavendar Oil, Orange Oil, Geranium Oil or Cajeput Oil.
